Formed in early 1991 and originally known as the Computer Manufacturers Industry Group, the Technology Industry Credit Group forum (TICG) is now in its seventeenth year of bi-monthly meetings and held its 100th meeting in July 2007. It has now developed into probably the longest running forum within the IT Sector. So what has been the secret of its longevity and success?
Going back to its conception, the TICG allowed Credit Professionals from the main computer manufacturers to meet within a closed forum. With its aim being to share experiences and drive best-practice.
Over the years the membership has changed and is no longer purely computer manufacturers. The TICG has evolved and now has as its members IT services and software suppliers as well as equipment manufacturers.
Laurie Beagle, Chair and original architect of the group explains: "The main purpose of the forum is that it exists purely for the benefit of its members and is driven by its members. We exist with the simple but overall objective of enhancing memberÃÂs knowledge and skills within an atmosphere of support and trust while, at the same time, generating and building personal networks".
By keeping to this principle, it has enabled the TICG to establish itself as the premier forum for the sector where members can focus on the key business drivers.
